Disney Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Board
This week, we added a touch of Disney magic to our Valentine’s Day celebrations with a Mickey and Minnie themed charcuterie board! At our house, Valentine’s Day is a family affair. Every year, we host a Valentine’s Day party for the kids with crafts, games, and special treats. And this year, I thought it would be fun to create a themed charcuterie board for our celebration. As you probably know, we love adding a touch of Disney magic to our days. So, for added pixie dust on Valentine’s Day, I decided to make a Mickey and Minnie charcuterie board. They are the original Disney couple, after all! To pull it…

Disney Soup Recipes to Warm Up Your Winter
We are in the peak of winter back home. With temps lingering below zero, we find ourselves longing for those warm, sunny vacation days in Disney. But while we weather through these frosty days, I like to create Disney magic at home by preparing recipes from the parks! So, this week, we’re sharing soup recipes from the Disney parks to warm up your winter! Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup – Le Cellier Steakhouse (EPCOT, Walt Disney World) Kicking off our soup recipes from the Disney parks is the wildly popular Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup from EPCOT’s Canada Pavilion. This soup has been a fan-favorite for years, even making regular appearances at…

Star Wars: Hoth Battle Party
We celebrated my little Star Wars fan’s fifth birthday with a Hoth Battle party! For the past couple years, my son has been all about Star Wars. Trips to Galaxy’s Edge have been highlights of Disney vacations, and visiting Darth Vader is now a beloved tradition. But in all the Star Wars galaxy, there’s one thing my little guy loves above all else – Imperial Walkers. His fascination with them began within the pages of his Star Wars board book, and then grew after coming face to face with his first AT-AT in Walt Disney World. Discovering my husband’s old N64 game (Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire) sealed the…

How to Throw a Star Wars Life Day Party
This week, we combined our love of Star Wars and Christmas by throwing a Life Day party! What is Life Day, you ask? Well, Star Wars super fans can tell you that Life Day is a Wookiee holiday first introduced in the 1978 Star Wars Holiday Special. The special follows Chewbacca and Han Solo, as they attempt to get Chewy home in time for the holiday while evading the Galactic Empire. The Star Wars Holiday Special was very poorly received and was never rebroadcast or released on video. But the special did introduce audiences to Boba Fett, and I think that’s a pretty big win! While I understand the criticisms…

Disney Villain Dinner Party
As the air cools and the days get shorter, there’s no doubt spooky season is approaching. So, to celebrate this seasonal change, we hosted a dinner party inspired by the dark side of Disney – the dastardly villains! We love a good Disney villain. They are fascinating and complex characters that captivate us with their personalities and ambitions. Sometimes, we may even relate to these despicable characters and find ourselves rooting for them! All the while knowing, ultimately, good will triumph and evil will get their comeuppance. So, to pay tribute to some of our favorite Disney baddies, we created a Disney Villain Dinner Party. Each menu item was directly…

101 Dalmatians Themed Dinner
This week, we had a barking good time enjoying a special themed dinner to 101 Dalmatians! 101 Dalmatians is one of my kids’ favorite Disney movies – you really can’t go wrong with 101 adorable puppies. And I personally enjoy Cruella de Vil. Her iconic fashion, high society charm, and reprehensible obsession with fur make her a villain we love to hate. With our busy schedules, I realized it’s been a while since our last themed dinner – my son’s Lion Guard birthday party, to be exact! Since my kids are so fond of 101 Dalmatians, I decided it was the perfect movie to get us back into our themed…

Lion Guard Birthday Party
Our little guy is officially four years old, so we threw him a safari birthday party themed to The Lion Guard! The Lion Guard is my son’s latest obsession. This Lion King spinoff series introduces Simba’s son, Kion, and his team of friends that form the Lion Guard. As leader of the Lion Guard, Kion is tasked with protecting the Pride Lands and defending the Circle of Life. I knew my son would really love a Lion Guard cake for his birthday party. But as I reflected on last year’s Star Wars party (and all the extra work I created for myself!), I decided to take it easy with the…

The Santa Clause Themed Dinner
This week, we put on our Santa hats and enjoyed a themed dinner to the Christmas classic – The Santa Clause! In The Santa Clause, Scott Calvin finds himself taking over the boots (literally) of Santa Claus after inadvertently startling him off his rooftop on Christmas Eve. Scott teams up with his son, Charlie, to deliver the remaining presents and return to the North Pole. Upon his return, however, the elves inform Scott he is now the new Santa (per the “Santa Clause”) and must resume his role next Christmas. For our Santa Clause themed dinner menu, I took inspiration from several food references and characters in the film. So,…

Polar Express Hot Chocolate Party
As winter nears, we happily anticipate twinkling Christmas lights, quiet evenings with family, and a magical ambiance in the air. Cozy season is officially here, and one of the best ways to get cozy is with a cup of cocoa. So, this week we enjoyed a hot chocolate party themed to The Polar Express! I loved reading The Polar Express as a child, and now I read the very same copy of the book to my children. It’s a touching story about the spirit of Christmas and believing in magic that applies to young and old alike. My youngest two also enjoy the 2004 animated film of the same name. …
