Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar – A Review!

During the holiday season, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar transforms into a festive hidden gem.  And today, we are reviewing the experience!

Jock Lindsey's Holiday Bar Storefront

Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar is a family-friendly lounge located in Disney Springs.  This watering hole is designed to resemble an airplane hangar-turned-dive bar.  And who should be the proprietor of such a location?  Well, none other than Indiana Jones’s high-flying and adventure-seeking pal, Jock Lindsey!

Fans of Raiders of the Lost Ark will remember Jock Lindsey (and his boa constrictor, Reggie) helping Indy with a daring escape during an expedition in Peru.  And as the story goes, after adventuring with Indy in central Florida, Jock decided to settle down with Reggie and build an airplane hangar in Disney Springs.  The location became a popular stopover for other world travelers, and Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar was born!

On any average day, you will find incredible theming at Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar showcasing objects and trophies from his worldwide adventures.  But lucky for us, we also got to experience the lounge decked out for the holidays!

During the holiday season, the lounge transforms into Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar with wall-to-wall Christmas décor and a special menu featuring festive food and drinks.

Décor

There is no question the holidays have arrived at Jock Lindsey’s as soon as you walk through the door.

Garlands and Christmas lights hang from the rafters and across bookcases.

And elves and Santa figures can be found nestled among Jock’s collection of memorabilia.

My favorite thing about Christmas is the lights and decorations, and Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar hit the nail on the head!

Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar Drinks

Feeling giddy about the awesome Christmas décor, we decided we would start off our meal with one of the festive cocktails featured on the holiday menu.  The holiday cocktails at Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar include:

  • Hot Chocolate Grail Flight: Cozy up with a trio of warm, spiked beverages—including spiced butterscotch hot chocolate, white-chocolate Oreo hot chocolate, and peppermint hot chocolate.
  • Claus Mo: Sip a traditional cosmopolitan cocktail with a sugar rim. Garnished with a strawberry and a marshmallow—reminiscent of Santa’s hat.
  • Pomegranate Gin & Tonic: Say “cheers!” to merry moments with this specialty cocktail made with St. Augustine Gin, pomegranate juice and tonic soda.
  • Yule Mule: Indulge in a refreshing mule cocktail—with a holiday twist—featuring Bombay Sapphire Gin, Fever Tree ginger beer, cranberry juice, rosemary simple syrup and a sugared rosemary sprig.

Pomegranate Gin and Tonic ($14.50)

My husband ordered the Pomegranate Gin and Tonic.  The large slice of fresh pomegranate and rosemary sprig garnish made this cocktail visually striking.

The cocktail flavors were exactly what you would expect from the description.  You could certainly taste the gin, while the pomegranate juice was more subtle.  Overall, the cocktail was well-balanced.  This certainly wasn’t a mixological feat, but it was a cool refreshing drink on a hot afternoon.

Hot Chocolate Grail Flight ($22)

I decided to go all-in on the holiday festivities and ordered the Hot Chocolate Grail Flight.  The presentation of this trio of cocktails was impressive.  Each cocktail came in a miniature hot cocoa cup on a board embossed with, “You have chosen wisely.” I particularly enjoyed this fun nod to Indy’s Holy Grail quest in The Last Crusade

The hot chocolates were served as follows:

  • Cookies and Cream White Chocolate – made with Vanilla Stoli and garnished with whipped cream and crushed Oreos
  • Spiced Butterscotch Hot Chocolate – made with Captain Morgan Spiced Rum and garnished with whipped cream and butterscotch drizzle
  • Peppermint Hot Chocolate – made with Bailey’s Irish Cream, Crème de Menthe and garnished with whipped cream and crushed peppermint.

The Cookies and Cream White Chocolate was the closest offering to traditional hot chocolate. The vodka flavor was very subtle.

The Spiced Butterscotch Hot Chocolate was my favorite. I typically don’t drink rum, but the spiciness added a nice contrast to the sweetness of the hot chocolate.

The Peppermint Hot Chocolate had a strong peppermint flavor. I enjoyed it, but recommend saving this one for last as the peppermint may overpower your palate.

As can be expected, the hot chocolate trio was quite sweet.  And while this is not something I would typically drink, it was a fun experience given the Christmassy nature of our visit.

Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar Food

Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar features a limited menu of casual fare with a festive twist.  Everything sounded so good, so we ordered the whole menu!

“Naughty or Nice” Deviled Eggs ($15)

Classic deviled eggs are topped with crispy ham and your choice of glaze.  If you are feeling “nice,” your deviled eggs are served with a sweet honey glaze.  “Naughty,” on the other hand, comes with a spicy honey glaze.

While I personally would prefer the spicy glaze, we went “nice” for the kiddos.

The deviled eggs were great!  The ham was crispy and flavorful, and the glaze added just a touch of sweetness that didn’t overpower the creamy egg filling.

I will say, this was the most expensive menu item and the smallest portion size at Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar.  If you are looking to get more bang for your buck, I would skip this dish.

Here We Come A-Croquetting ($12)

These turkey-and-stuffing croquettes are topped with a bacon and cranberry jam and served over pureed sweet potatoes.  The croquettes were crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside.  To make things even better, they are served with a savory turkey gravy on the side for dipping.

I really loved these.  All my favorite Thanksgiving flavors were encapsulated into one tasty bite.  And my two-year-old couldn’t get enough of the pureed sweet potatoes!

Boughs of Holly Flatbread with Ham and Brie ($9)

This flatbread was made with Brie cheese, black forest ham, watercress, Granny Smith apples, pomegranate seeds, and lemon vinaigrette.  That seems like a lot going on!  But all the flavors blended wonderfully.  Anytime there’s Brie cheese, I know I’m going to be a happy momma!

The kids really enjoyed this “pizza” too, although I did have to pick the watercress off my six-year-old’s portion.

Grandma’s Revenge Venison Sliders ($14)

These sliders were served on Parker House rolls and made with venison sausage, bacon-cranberry jam, watercress, and tomato.

The sliders boasted savory holiday flavors that worked in perfect harmony with one another.  I particularly enjoyed the venison sausage which was flavorful and juicy – an impressive feat considering venison is such a lean meat.

This was my husband’s favorite thing we ate our entire trip!  That’s a big win in my book.

Post-Flight Milk and Cookies ($9)

To cap off our meal, I ordered the Post-Flight Milk and Cookies for the kids.  This plate came with three beautifully decorated Christmas cookies and a glass of milk.  For adults, you may also order this menu item with coquito rather than milk for $27.

The three cookies were gingerbread, apple pie, and pecan pie.  I made my kids pay the “mom tax” by allowing me a nibble of each cookie.  For reviewing purposes, of course!

My clear favorite was the apple pie cookie, followed by the pecan pie. Each cookie had a filling, and I’m not sure what the gingerbread cookie filling was, but I was not a fan of it.

My six-year-old was more interested in picking off the candies than eating the cookies, but my teenager happily finished her shares.

How cute is this dessert plate!

Overall, I was very happy with every item we tried, and I really have to stress the family-friendliness of this menu.  We were able to share these dishes with our three kiddos (ages 2-14) and everyone left full and happy!

Final Thoughts

We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmastime visit to Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar.  The food was fantastic, there was an abundance of holiday beverages available, and the decorations left no shortage of Christmas spirit.

As cheesy as this sounds, dining at Jock Lindsey’s Holiday Bar had me feeling all warm and cozy inside.  I was grinning ear to ear!
