Nightmare Before Christmas Themed Dinner
This week, we had a spooky and merry time enjoying a Nightmare Before Christmas themed dinner! The Nightmare Before Christmas is the perfect mashup of Halloween and Christmas spirit. There is a hot debate as to whether it’s considered a Halloween or Christmas movie, but I personally believe it’s a Christmas movie for the following reasons: It’s our family tradition to watch The Nightmare Before Christmas after a night of trick-or-treating to conclude Halloween and welcome the Christmas season! (Yes, I’m that person that jumps right into Christmas in November). But while considering the food references in the film, I decided the menu had a much more *Halloween* feel. So,…

Wizard of Oz Themed Dinner
This week, we dined over the rainbow while enjoying a Wizard of Oz themed dinner! I adored this film as a child, and still quote it to this day (I DO believe in spooks, I do, I do, I do!). And, to my dismay, most of my family had no idea what I was referencing! I knew that was something I had to remedy. And of course, I had to plan a themed dinner to accompany our movie night. I have always associated The Wizard of Oz with Halloween. The main villain is a witch, after all! And with spooky season upon us, I knew this was the perfect time…

Snow White Themed Dinner
This week’s Disney Dinner was themed to Walt Disney’s first animated feature film – Snow White! As the weather cools, apples are ready for picking, and fall approaches. What better time to enjoy a Snow White themed dinner? Seeing as how Snow White takes place in Germany, our menu featured traditional German dishes alongside the star of the film – apples! I also made our very own poison apple to incorporate in our Snow White dinner décor. Click HERE to see the tutorial I used as well as other Disney Halloween craft tutorials. Snow White Dinner Menu As I mentioned before, our Snow White dinner menu was inspired by traditional…

Nothing beats the excitement of counting down the days until your Disney vacation, and with these free printable designs, you can countdown in style! We are finally in the double digits of our Disney vacation countdown. To celebrate, I thought it would be fun to create our very own printable to help the kids get excited for the trip. I love using a countdown because it helps the kids understand how soon (or oftentimes, how very far away) the upcoming trip is. Plus, it’s pretty exciting to see that number shift from…

Alice in Wonderland Tea Party
This week, we drank tea and played croquet during our outdoor Alice in Wonderland tea party! When my daughter turned three, I wanted to throw her an Alice in Wonderland tea party in our backyard. I made most of the decorations myself, and even hand-painted a croquet set to look like the flamingos and hedgehogs from the film. But as luck would have it, storms rolled in on her birthday, and the party had to be relocated inside. It was still a grand time, but I was a little disappointed it wasn’t the outdoor Alice in Wonderland tea party I had envisioned. I decided to hold on to most of…

Finding Nemo Themed Dinner
This week, we celebrated our favorite fishy friends with a Finding Nemo themed dinner! With summer in full swing, I decided it was the perfect time to plan a Finding Nemo dinner. This nautical adventure follows two fish, Marlin and Dory, as they cross the ocean in search of Marlin’s son, Nemo. Our dinner menu was inspired by the marine life Marlin and Dory encounter on their travels. As they say in the film, “Fish are friends, not food!” So, in solidarity with the sentiment, the only fish on our menu were goldfish crackers. So, grab your “exit buddy” and don’t forget to “just keep swimming” as we share our…

The BEST Places to Take a Break in Animal Kingdom
This week, we are covering the best places to take a break in Animal Kingdom. A full day at the Disney Parks can be EXHAUSTING. The early mornings, hot sun, long lines, and miles of walking each day can really add up. Taking breaks is essential, especially when traveling with little ones or guests with mobility issues or special needs. The best way to rest and recharge is by taking a midday break at your resort. But that isn’t always the most convenient option for parkgoers. So, I’m creating a series of posts that cover the best spots to take a break in each Walt Disney World park. And today,…

Jurassic Park Themed Dinner
This week, we enjoyed a dinosaur-themed dinner while watching one of my favorite movies – Jurassic Park! The inspiration to have a Jurassic Park dinner came from a recent trip we took to Montana. During our visit, my kids were thrilled that dinosaurs seemed to be everywhere! Dinosaur museums, sculptures, and dig sites – we even met a family friend who found an actual Triceratops fossil in his own backyard! It’s incredible to think of the undiscovered history hidden right under our feet. Our Montana travels took us to Makoshika State Park, home to many prehistoric fossils including Triceratops and Tyrannosaurus rex. At the Visitor Center, we had the opportunity…
