Celebrate New Year’s Eve at Home with the Kids

    January 2, 2021 /

Happy New Year, readers!  This past week, we celebrated New Year’s Eve at home with the kids.  2020 has been QUITE a year of ups and downs.  While eager to usher in a New Year, I am also grateful for many things that have happened this past year.  We were incredibly lucky to take a trip to Disney World before the pandemic hit.  While there, I married my best friend in the company of our daughters and enjoyed the trip of a lifetime.  Later this year, we also received the joyful news that we would be having our third child (and first boy!).  Being quarantined together afforded us the opportunity…

    A Christmas Story Dinner Night

    December 22, 2020 /

A Christmas Story is my MOST favorite Christmas movie of all time!   This film follows the Parker family in 1940s Indiana during the days leading up to their Christmas holiday.  I knew this movie would make a great Christmas Story Dinner to wrap up our holiday movie nights.  This movie is full of the hustle and bustle of the holidays, relatable situations (for adults and children alike), and great one-liners – You’ll shoot your eye out!  A Christmas Story is also a wonderful reminder that (despite your best efforts) no Christmas celebration will ever be perfect.  But what is most important during the holidays, is spending time with your loved…

    ELF Dinner Night

    December 14, 2020 /

Winter is in the air and the holidays are right around the corner.  This truly is my favorite time of year: the music, lights, holiday movies, and FOOD!  There is so much to look forward to on the days leading up to the holidays.  To really get into the spirit, I decided we needed to enjoy a themed dinner to one of my favorite holiday movies, ELF!  This week, I am excited to share with you our Christmas themed ELF Dinner Night. Download a printable version of our ELF Dinner Night Menu here: ELF is a cherished holiday classic in our household; we look forward to watching it every year…

    Little Mermaid Dinner Night

    December 5, 2020 /

For our Disney Dinner this week, we decided to go “Under the Sea” and take inspiration from Disney’s The Little Mermaid!  This Disney film is one of my all-time favorites.  The story features lovable characters, great music, a FANTASTIC villain, and a touching father/daughter storyline.  For our Little Mermaid Dinner, I wanted to incorporate menu items inspired by the sea but keep seafood OFF the menu.  Ariel wouldn’t eat her sea friends, would she?!  So for this week’s Disney Dinner, we set out to immerse ourselves in The Little Mermaid with our “Under the Sea” inspired menu!  Download a printable version of our Little Mermaid Dinner Night Menu here: Under…

Eat and Drink Around the World in EPCOT’s World Showcase

    November 28, 2020 /

Today, I am going to share with you how we chose to Eat and Drink Around the World in EPCOT’s World Showcase! We absolutely love World Showcase.  Where else in the world can you experience the culture, food, and people of 11 different countries…all in one place?!  There are so many neat hidden treasures and secret spots to be discovered, and so much knowledge to be attained.  This is an area of the park to be slowly taken in and savored.  One of our favorite ways to do this is with a drink and snack in hand 😊.  Eating and/or Drinking Around the World is a popular challenge that EPCOT…

There are COUNTLESS ways you can budget for and save money on a Walt Disney World vacation, but today I am going to share my favorite method with you! Saving Extra Funds with Disney Gift Cards A Disney World vacation can cost you THOUSANDS depending on your travel party size, length of stay, and on/off property needs.  This leaves many people wondering, “Where am I going to get this money from?!”  One of the easiest ways to save up for a Disney vacation is to start stashing extra funds on Disney gift cards.  You received $100 from a family member for your birthday? Toy Story Pizza Party Night

    November 17, 2020 /

Tonight, I am going to share with you how we threw our very own Toy Story Pizza Party! This idea was sparked by the upcoming National Pizza Day as well as our love for all things Disney. This simple dinner is an EASY way to add a little Disney magic to your evening. National Pizza Day is a celebration of all things pizza taking place yearly on February 9th!   You can thank the early Romans for the very first iteration of our favorite cheesy, carb-y, cuisine.  Many years later, 18th century Naples would be the birthplace of the modern pizzas we enjoy today!  Now that we have a basic understanding…

    Great-Grandma Carmella’s Italian Meatball Recipe

    November 16, 2020 /

Ahhhh spaghetti and meatballs, the ultimate comfort food in my opinion!  There’s nothing like twirling noodles on your fork and stabbing a juicy Italian meatball to keep everything together in one perfect bite.  And let’s be honest, who hasn’t tried to reenact that famous noodle sharing scene from Lady and the Tramp?  My family is guilty! Today, I am going to share how you can make your own Italian Meatballs with this treasured family recipe. Italian Origins This Italian Meatball Recipe comes from the kitchen of my Great-Grandma Carmella.  The origin of this Italian Meatball Recipe hails from Naples, Italy, where my Grandma was born.  I love embracing my Italian…
