Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge Recipes to Make at Home
National Star Wars Day is right around the corner! And one of our favorite ways to celebrate is by preparing a Star Wars themed meal at home. So, this week I’m sharing how you can make popular recipes from Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge right in your own kitchen!
Located at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Galaxy’s Edge is every Star Wars fan’s dream come true. This themed area allows visitors to fully immerse themselves in Star Wars stories. And one of my favorite things about this land is the unique food and drink offerings!

Cooking recipes straight from the parks is one of my favorite ways to bring home some Disney magic.
So, prepare for hyper speed, as we blast off on a tour of Disney’s Official Galaxy’s Edge Cookbook!

Background
This is not your average cookbook! The Galaxy’s Edge Cookbook contains over 70 intergalactic recipes within its pages. What I absolutely love about each of the recipes is they are wonderfully themed to fit in the world of Star Wars.
Each recipe was crafted by intergalactic chef, Strono “Cookie” Tuggs. If this name sounds familiar, that’s because Chef Cookie is the proprietor of Docking Bay 7 at Galaxy’s Edge! Utilizing the knowledge and exotic ingredients he’s collected across the galaxy, Chef Cookie crafts otherworldly recipes for the citizens of Batuu.
Each recipe in the cookbook contains an informal excerpt from Chef Cookie. These amusing anecdotes build a story within its pages and create authenticity to these Star Wars recipes. I find myself thumbing through the pages just to read more about Chef Cookie’s adventures!
Besides featuring great stories, each of the Galaxy’s Edge recipes also exhibit otherworldly qualities in their presentation and flavor profile. This is accomplished by using accessible ingredients from across the globe, creating an out-of-this-world experience!
Sides, Starters + Snacks
The first section of recipes in the Galaxy’s Edge Cookbook contains dishes such as Rings of Hudalla, Roasted Chando Peppers, Fried Zuchii, and Fritzle Fries. But one of our go-to recipes is Kat’s Kettle Corn!
Kat’s Kettle Corn
You may recognize Kat Saka from the popular popcorn stand at Galaxy’s Edge. According to Chef Cookie, Kat wasn’t eager to share her secret recipe for her Outpost Mix, but he did convince her to share another popular spice mix for the cookbook.
This kettle corn is made over the stove and seasoned with Saka Salt (a combination of red salt and garam masala).
I honestly like this version of Kat’s popcorn better than the one you find in the parks. The sweetness of the kettle corn combined with the warmth of the garam masala make this one a popular choice for Star Wars movie nights!
Soups + Stews
The soup selections of the Galaxy’s Edge Cookbook include Rootleaf Stew, Topato Soup, and Tatooine Terrine. But the recipe I was most excited to try was the Spicy Mandalorian Stew!
Spicy Mandalorian Stew
I whipped up a pot of this stew during our Mandalorian Themed Dinner!
Chef Cookie writes this traditional stew is, “so blazin’ hot it’ll burn the hair right outta your nostrils.”
This recipe is a hearty blend of chicken, veggies, and couscous that gets its warm and spicy kick from curry powder, garam masala, and fresh ginger.
While this dish was too spicy for my younger kiddos, my teenager and I loved it!
Main Courses
Entrée recipes in the Galaxy’s Edge Cookbook include Yobshrimp Noodle Salad, Braised Shaak Roast, Nerf Kebabs, and Huttese Slime Pods. But those who frequent Galaxy’s Edge will immediately recognize the recipe for Fried Endorian Tip-Yip!
Fried Endorian Tip-Yip
We enjoyed this dish from Docking Bay 7 during our first ever voyage to Galaxy’s Edge, and we keep going back for more! That’s why I was especially excited to see this recipe included in the cookbook.
According to Chef Cookie, Tip-Yip is a type of hen raised by Ewoks. For the sake of this recipe, us earthlings can substitute regular chicken 😉
These chicken cutlets are breaded and fried, then smothered with a warm herb gravy and served with veggies and mash.
Enjoying this dish at home transported us right back to Galaxy’s Edge!
Huttese Slime Pods
The name of this dish is truly nausea-inducing. Chef Cookie created this recipe during his time with the Hutts – the giant sluglike gangsters from Nal Hutta. These “slime pods” can be found floating in the local swamps. But lucky for us, Chef Cookie’s recipe swapped out the slimy delicacies for something more approachable – gnocchi!
The finished dish looked quite unappetizing, but the kids actually loved it! Slime pods for the win!
Ronto Wrap
Now, I know you’re probably wondering about the most popular dish in Galaxy’s Edge – the Ronto Wrap! Is it included in the cookbook? Well, yes! But is it the traditional recipe found in Galaxy’s Edge? Well, sadly, no.
The Ronto Wrap recipe in this cookbook deviates from the original served in Galaxy’s Edge. According to Chef Cookie, the butcher over at Ronto Roasters wasn’t eager to share his secret recipe, so this Ronto Wrap is Cookie’s own spin with chorizo and guacamole. I haven’t had the chance to make this recipe (yet), so it could very well be a tasty dish!
But here’s a little secret – I’ve found a great Ronto Wrap recipe from Disney Food Blog. This one makes regular appearances during our May the Fourth parties. Try them both out and let me know what you think!
Drinks
Everyone knows the place to find a quality beverage in Galaxy’s Edge is at Oga’s Cantina!
But with the Galaxy’s Edge Cookbook, you can find several popular recipes from the park to make at home! Some of our favorites include the Coruscant Cooler, Dagobah Slug Slinger, and Sunrise Caf.
Dagobah Slug Slinger
This was one of our favorite cocktails from Oga’s Cantina, and the recipe in the Galaxy’s Edge Cookbook tasted just like the original!
The cocktail was sweet and citrusy, and I loved the herbaceous notes paired with the spicy hints of ginger. We felt transported right back to Oga’s!
Photon Fizzle
While perusing the cookbook for a drink to serve during our Mandalorian Themed Dinner, I came across a great recipe for the Photon Fizzle.
This cocktail is made with gin, rosemary simple syrup, lime juice, and ginger beer. Not only was it tasty and had great Star Wars theming, but the boba pearls also reminded me of one of Grogu’s favorite snacks – frog eggs!
Bantha Chai
Have you truly experienced Galaxy’s Edge without a stop to the Milk Stand to pick up the wildly popular Blue Milk? This blue beverage has been intriguing audiences since the original Star Wars was released in 1977. Getting to sample it in Galaxy’s Edge is a rite of passage for die-hard Star Wars fans!
Well, the Bantha Chai is a fun twist on the iconic Blue Milk. And lucky for us, Chef Cookie has crafted a recipe that doesn’t require actual banthas!
The Bantha Chai gets its blue color from steeping butterfly pea tea in warm milk. This chai recipe is sweet and features warm spices such as cardamom, mace, and ginger. It’s a hit with the whole family and another staple of our May the Fourth celebrations!
Final Thoughts
I highly recommend Disney’s Official Galaxy’s Edge Cookbook for Star Wars fans. The cookbook is rich in theming and detail, and the recipes are easy to follow and yield tasty results!
We love looking through the recipes together and choosing which one to make next during our Star Wars festivities. It’s the perfect way to bring the world of Star Wars into your home!
