Wicked Themed Dinner
The week, we stepped into the land of Oz with a spellbinding Wicked themed dinner! Inspired by The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, Wicked first debuted on Broadway in 2003. The musical focuses on two witches, Elphaba and Glinda, and the events which occurred before and after Dorothy Gale donned her ruby slippers. Despite being polar opposites in nature, Elphaba and Glinda develop a deep friendship. However, their friendship is tested by the corrupt rule of Oz and ultimately leads to Elphaba’s descent into villainy as the Wicked Witch of the West. Wicked achieved massive success and became one of the longest-running shows in Broadway history. I was incredibly fortunate to…

101 Dalmatians Themed Dinner
This week, we had a barking good time enjoying a special themed dinner to 101 Dalmatians! 101 Dalmatians is one of my kids’ favorite Disney movies – you really can’t go wrong with 101 adorable puppies. And I personally enjoy Cruella de Vil. Her iconic fashion, high society charm, and reprehensible obsession with fur make her a villain we love to hate. With our busy schedules, I realized it’s been a while since our last themed dinner – my son’s Lion Guard birthday party, to be exact! Since my kids are so fond of 101 Dalmatians, I decided it was the perfect movie to get us back into our themed…

Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White – A Review!
This week, we’re reviewing our recent visit to Story Book Dining at Artist Point with Snow White! Story Book Dining at Artist Point is a character dining experience located at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge Resort. This prix fixe dinner offers a selection of individual plated entrées in addition to shared appetizers and desserts. Set in a scenic enchanted forest, guests have the pleasure of interacting with popular characters from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs during their meal. I’ve always been curious to dine at Story Book Dining at Artist Point, but my daughters never showed much interest in those characters growing up. Now, as they have gotten older, their interest…

Lion Guard Birthday Party
Our little guy is officially four years old, so we threw him a safari birthday party themed to The Lion Guard! The Lion Guard is my son’s latest obsession. This Lion King spinoff series introduces Simba’s son, Kion, and his team of friends that form the Lion Guard. As leader of the Lion Guard, Kion is tasked with protecting the Pride Lands and defending the Circle of Life. I knew my son would really love a Lion Guard cake for his birthday party. But as I reflected on last year’s Star Wars party (and all the extra work I created for myself!), I decided to take it easy with the…

The Santa Clause Themed Dinner
This week, we put on our Santa hats and enjoyed a themed dinner to the Christmas classic – The Santa Clause! In The Santa Clause, Scott Calvin finds himself taking over the boots (literally) of Santa Claus after inadvertently startling him off his rooftop on Christmas Eve. Scott teams up with his son, Charlie, to deliver the remaining presents and return to the North Pole. Upon his return, however, the elves inform Scott he is now the new Santa (per the “Santa Clause”) and must resume his role next Christmas. For our Santa Clause themed dinner menu, I took inspiration from several food references and characters in the film. So,…
