Onward Themed Dinner
This week’s Disney Dinner was themed to the family adventure film, Onward! Onward is the story of two teenage elf brothers (Ian and Barley) who embark on a magical quest for the chance to reunite with their departed father. As one would expect from a quest, the boys encounter perilous obstacles, magic spells, and dangerous curses on their exciting journey. Although we don’t see much of the boys’ father, Wilden, his impact in the film makes him one of my favorite Disney Dads. And as we gear up for Father’s Day, I thought it would be fitting to celebrate with an Onward themed dinner! There are TONS of great food…

How the Grinch Stole Christmas Themed Dinner
For our final Christmas Themed Dinner, we enjoyed a Who-feast while viewing How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This classic Christmas tale focuses on a mean-spirited grouch who HATES Christmas and his neighboring merrymakers, the Whos. In his attempt to steal Christmas and end it once and for all, the Grinch learns a valuable lesson: Christmas isn’t about material things; it’s a joyous feeling in your heart when you care for others. The menu I created for our Grinch Themed Dinner can be enjoyed during a reading of the beloved Dr. Seuss story, a viewing of the classic animated film, or during your favorite Grinch adaptation! In our household, our favorite…

Home Alone Themed Dinner
This week’s themed dinner was inspired by the classic Christmas film – Home Alone! Mistakenly left alone while his family traveled to Paris for the holidays, 8-year-old Kevin finds creative ways to fend for himself in their absence. To make matters worse, Kevin must face off against two burglars in a showdown to protect his home. We love watching this movie during Christmastime and enjoy lots of laughs as we quote our favorite scenes. There are several food references throughout the film, which made it a lot of fun creating this Home Alone Dinner menu. Read on, to see how we ate like unsupervised 8-year-olds while enjoying this holiday classic!…

Lady and the Tramp Dinner Night
Happy New Year, readers! We kicked off the New Year with another one of our Disney Themed Dinners. The time, we focused on Walt Disney’s beloved film, Lady and the Tramp. The inspiration for our Lady and the Tramp Dinner Night? National Spaghetti Day, of course! This national holiday takes place on January 4th and celebrates one of our favorite noodles and all its glorious sauces. What better way to start a New Year than with a big plate of noodles and sauce?! You can read more about this national holiday at National Day Calendar. Seeing as how Lady and the Tramp enjoy a delicious plate of spaghetti and meatballs…

A Christmas Story Dinner Night
A Christmas Story is my MOST favorite Christmas movie of all time! This film follows the Parker family in 1940s Indiana during the days leading up to their Christmas holiday. I knew this movie would make a great Christmas Story Dinner to wrap up our holiday movie nights. This movie is full of the hustle and bustle of the holidays, relatable situations (for adults and children alike), and great one-liners – You’ll shoot your eye out! A Christmas Story is also a wonderful reminder that (despite your best efforts) no Christmas celebration will ever be perfect. But what is most important during the holidays, is spending time with your loved…

A Goofy Movie Dinner Night
One of our FAVORITE Disney movies to watch as a family (and seriously underrated, in my humble opinion) is the 1995 classic, A Goofy Movie. It has everything! Great music, tons of laughs, a road trip adventure, and a touching father/son storyline…what more could you ask for?! Plus sooo much delicious-looking food. I figured, what better way to enjoy this classic film than to create some of that magic at home, WITH FOOD! So for this week’s Disney Themed Dinner, we are taking a road trip across America with Goofy and Max, and enjoying some of those delicious snacks and treats along the way! I present to you, our Goofy…
