Guide to Mobile Ordering at Walt Disney World
This week, we are going to cover everything you need to know about Mobile Ordering at Walt Disney World!
Mobile Ordering is a feature in the My Disney Experience app that allows guests to place orders for Quick Service meals throughout the Disney property. Through the app, guests can view menus, select items, and pay for their meals at their convenience.
Mobile Ordering began as a quick and underutilized way to bypass the Quick Service lines at Disney. During the pandemic, however, Mobile Ordering became the required method of ordering food to reduce physical contact. Now that Disney is relaxing its physical contact rules and restrictions, more Quick Service locations have begun accepting walk-up orders.
But Mobile Ordering is still strongly encouraged on the Disney property, so it’s best to understand how this service works before you arrive at the resort. Chances are, you will be Mobile Ordering at some point during your magical vacation. And by knowing a few tips and tricks, Mobile Ordering can be a convenient and time-saving tool!

Mobile Ordering – Step by Step Instructions
Since there is a good chance you will be using Mobile Order, let’s walk through the steps of creating your order on the My Disney Experience app.
First things first – make sure you have the My Disney Experience app! You will want to download this app before your vacation and familiarize yourself with its capabilities. On My Disney Experience, you can see your park plans and tickets, secure dining reservations, and make Genie+ selections.
You WILL need this app, so make sure it’s downloaded, and you are signed into your account. You will also need a payment method linked to your account to pay for your Mobile Orders.
Step 1 – Open Mobile Order on My Disney Experience
Open My Disney Experience and select the plus sign at the bottom of the screen. The “+” symbol is your “My Plans” menu on the app. When the menu expands, select “Order Food.”
Step 2 – Select Restaurant
Choose the Quick Service restaurant you wish to Mobile Order from. We are heading to Flame Tree Barbeque today!
Step 3 – Choose Arrival Window
Once you have your restaurant pulled up, choose an Arrival Window. You can see that each Arrival Window allows guests a 30-minute span of time to pick up their order.
The first Arrival Window listed will be your earliest available window. For Arrival Windows later in the day, continue to scroll through the options.
For our example, we are planning to arrive between 11:40-12:10.
Step 4 – Build Your Order
Once you select your Arrival Window, you will be redirected to the menu options so you can build your order! You can use the category icons at the top of the page to jump to a specific section of the menu or just scroll down to see the full menu.
When making your selections, you will have the ability to specify sides, make substitutions, and add customizations.
Once you have found a menu item you want and have specified any sides and customizations, click the “+Add” button.
Step 5 – Review Your Order
After you have built your order, select “View My Order” at the bottom of the page. You will have the opportunity to make any necessary changes to your order before sending it through.
If you want something changed, select “Modify Order” at the bottom of the screen. If all looks good, click “Review Order Summary” to see your order total and finalize payment.
Step 6 – Finalize Payment
There are a few different payment options for Mobile Orders. You may use your linked credit card, Disney Rewards Card, Disney Gift Card, ApplePay, or Disney Dining Plan credits.
You CANNOT pay for your Mobile Orders with cash. If you need to use cash as payment, you will need to wait in line to do so.
Once you have chosen your desired form of payment, select “Purchase.”
Step 7 – “Prepare My Food”
When you have reached your designated Arrival Window and are ready for your food, open the app and select “I’m Here, Prepare My Food.”
Once you make this selection, the restaurant will begin making your order.
It can take about 5-10 minutes for your order to be prepared, so it isn’t a bad idea to select “Prepare My Food” as you are making your way to the restaurant.
* If you ever need to change your arrival window or cancel your order, you may do so BEFORE selecting “Prepare My Order.” Once you have made that selection, you will be charged, and no changes can be made to your order.
Step 8 – Retrieve Order From Pick-Up Counter
Once your order is ready, you will receive an alert instructing you to head over to your designated pick-up counter. The pick-up counters are each numbered and easy to find.
Easy, right? Now, all that’s left to do is enjoy your delicious meal!
Tips for High Volume Times
As I mentioned before, Mobile Ordering has become the standard for obtaining Quick Service meals at Disney. Because of this, there are times the system can get bogged down with so many orders. This is especially true during the lunch hour and at the most popular Quick Service locations. This means, if you are looking to place a Mobile Order at a popular spot like Woody’s Lunch Box around noon, the restaurant may not have any Arrival Window availability until much later in the day.
To avoid missing out on your desired Arrival Windows or Quick Service Meals, you can place your Mobile Orders earlier in the day. While Mobile Ordering is only available for same-day orders, you can place those orders before the restaurant even opens!
By placing your Mobile Orders earlier in the day, you can ensure you snag an Arrival Window that works best for your group. Then, you won’t have to worry about it again until it’s time to signal the restaurant to prepare your food.
I know what you’re thinking – this seems like a lot of planning and forethought just to get a Quick Service meal in the middle of the day. But by placing these orders early at a convenient time (like when you are waiting for buses), you can avoid the hassle of securing these orders during a busier time of your day.
Should You Plan to Mobile Order at Disney?
The role of Mobile Ordering has evolved from an underutilized vacation hack to a necessity at Walt Disney World. Though the system isn’t perfect, it is a very convenient way to view menus, build orders, and pay for Quick Service meals anywhere on the Disney property.
If you plan accordingly, Mobile Ordering can be a major time-saver at Disney World. And by understanding the ins and outs, you will have the best chance of enjoying your high priority Quick Service meals at the best times.
