Disney Villain Dinner Party

As the air cools and the days get shorter, there’s no doubt spooky season is approaching. So, to celebrate this seasonal change, we hosted a dinner party inspired by the dark side of Disney – the dastardly villains!

We love a good Disney villain. They are fascinating and complex characters that captivate us with their personalities and ambitions. Sometimes, we may even relate to these despicable characters and find ourselves rooting for them! All the while knowing, ultimately, good will triumph and evil will get their comeuppance.

So, to pay tribute to some of our favorite Disney baddies, we created a Disney Villain Dinner Party. Each menu item was directly inspired by a Disney villain and their story.

To set the stage for our Disney Villain Dinner Party, I created silhouette printables of each featured villain. You can download the same printables I used with the link below!

The original silhouette designs came from Designs By Miss Mandee. She has tons of great silhouette designs ranging from Disney characters to Star Wars and Marvel. I highly recommend checking out her site!

Ursula Pizza Tentacles

To represent Ursula in our Disney villain dinner, I made pizza dippers shaped like tentacles. These were super simple to create – all you need is pizza dough, sauce, cheese, and mini pepperonis.

I first formed our pizza dough into tentacle shapes, then parbaked them before adding the toppings. Each tentacle was then topped with sauce, cheese, and mini pepperonis arranged to look like suckers.

When they were ready, I served them with a side of marinara for dipping. They were a hit with the kids!

Maleficent Blackened Chicken Wings

To represent Maleficent, I took inspiration from her large black horns and decided to make blackened chicken wings.

First, I marinated eight full chicken wings overnight in the following ingredients:

¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup apple cider vinegar
¼ cup sesame oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 Tbl honey
1 Tbl sriracha
1 Tbl brown sugar
1 tsp ground ginger
A drop of black gel coloring
Salt to taste

When it was time to cook, I lined a baking sheet with parchment paper and placed the wings in the oven at 400 degrees for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, I flipped the wings and baked an additional 30 minutes.

While the wings were baking, I prepared a sauce with the leftover marinade by bringing it to a boil on the stove. Then, I let it simmer for about 10 minutes until it was thickened.

When the wings were finished baking, I brushed them with the sauce, and they were ready to serve!

Jafar Snake Wraps

Jafar’s iconic snake transformation with the inspiration for this dish. I originally got the idea to create this pigs-in-a-blanket style snack from Hungry Happenings.

I followed her instructions to form cut up hotdogs and crescent dough into my snake. Then, before baking, I brushed the snake with a combination of water and gel food coloring to get the black and orange colors.

He looked great when he came out of the oven! Our snake just needed the finishing touches – a tongue and eyes made from red pepper.

Evil Queen Cauldrons

I’ve made “poisoned” apple pies inspired by the Evil Queen before, but I wanted to try something different for our Disney Villain Dinner Party. Instead, I prepared mini cauldrons bubbling with her Sleeping Death potion.

I ordered our mini cauldrons from Amazon – you can find the same ones HERE!

Our cauldrons were filled with a pistachio fluff I made using a recipe from Emma’s Cake Studio. Then, I added light green pearl sprinkles to mimic bubbles, and a cherry to serve as the poisoned apple.

I loved how they turned out!

Dr. Facilier Voodoo Doll Hand Pies

For a bonus sweet treat, I also made voodoo doll hand pies as a nod to Dr. Facilier. I kept this recipe as simple as possible by using refrigerated pie dough, strawberry jam, and black icing.

A standard gingerbread man cookie cutter created the top and bottom pie layers. I also used a knife to cut out a small heart shape in the top layers. Once my shapes were cut, I spread a thin amount of strawberry jam between the top and bottom pie layers, then sealed the edges together with a fork.

Before baking, I brushed each pie with egg wash, then popped them in the oven at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.

Then came the fun part – decorating! I enjoyed making each voodoo doll slightly unique from the next, and the kids absolutely loved them!

Hades Milkshakes

Hades ranks high on my favorite villains list, so I had to represent him on our Disney Villain dinner menu. I decided a simple, yet fun, menu item would be a blue milkshake topped with cotton candy to resemble his blue-colored flame hair.

To make our milkshakes, I combined 1 cup vanilla ice cream, 2 cups milk (or half-and-half can be used), 1 tsp vanilla, and a drop of blue food gel in the blender. To serve, I topped the milkshake with a thin layer of whipped cream to hold up the cotton candy “hair.”

The kids were thrilled with this treat, particularly the cotton candy!

Yzma Potions

I wasn’t originally going to include Yzma in our Disney Villain Dinner Party because I had already featured her in our Emperor’s New Groove Themed Dinner. But I wasn’t crazy about how our original Kuzco Poison turned out. So when my husband bought me a candy-filled Yzma vial in Disney, I decided it would make the perfect vessel for a redo!

For my redemption potion, I used Berry Gatorade (the pink one) as the base of our elixir. I also brewed some Butterfly Pea Flower Tea to achieve that signature deep blue color. When you add lemon juice to this tea, the acid changes the color to a vibrant purple. Science! I felt like I was actually mixing potions here.

Little by little, I added the tea and lemon juice mixture to the Gatorade base to achieve the perfect “essence of llama” color.

The kids loved it, and they were thoroughly entertained by the science experiments occurring in the kitchen. Mwah ha ha ha!!

Once you’ve curated the perfect selection of Disney Villains for your dinner menu, then consider introducing some gameplay in the festivities. And I can’t think of a more perfect game for a Disney Villain Dinner Party than Villainous!

Disney Villainous Board Game

This strategy board game has players assuming the role of various Disney villains as they foil one another’s plans in their attempt to triumph over the forces of good. This is such a fun and unique game that actually encourages players to be bad – we love playing it at home with the older kids.

You can find Villainous as well as the expansion games with even more villains on Amazon!
