Polar Express Hot Chocolate Party
As winter nears, we happily anticipate twinkling Christmas lights, quiet evenings with family, and a magical ambiance in the air. Cozy season is officially here, and one of the best ways to get cozy is with a cup of cocoa. So, this week we enjoyed a hot chocolate party themed to The Polar Express! I loved reading The Polar Express as a child, and now I read the very same copy of the book to my children. It’s a touching story about the spirit of Christmas and believing in magic that applies to young and old alike. My youngest two also enjoy the 2004 animated film of the same name. …

It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown – Themed Dinner
We capped off our Halloween dinner series with a menu inspired by It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown has been a timeless Halloween tradition since it first aired in 1966. Based on the comic strip Peanuts, this animated special follows Charlie Brown and his friends as they celebrate Halloween. However, Linus chooses to forgo his friends’ traditional celebrations, and instead spends Halloween waiting in a pumpkin patch for the mythical Great Pumpkin. Our Great Pumpkin dinner was inspired by Charlie Brown and his friends as well as Linus’s “sincere” pumpkin patch! * This post contains affiliate links. This means, if you click a link…

So, this week, we paid tribute to our favorite trio of witches with a Hocus Pocus charcuterie board! If you’ve been following this blog, you know Halloween is a big deal for my family. And Hocus Pocus tops the chart of our favorite Halloween movies. We love the movie so much; we host an annual Hocus Pocus viewing party with our friends! Nightmare Before Christmas Dessert Board
This week, we created a dessert board with delicious treats inspired by Disney’s The Nightmare Before Christmas! Growing up, I absolutely loved The Nightmare Before Christmas, and I’m happy to say my kids have followed in my footsteps! It’s our tradition to watch the film every Halloween night after an evening of trick-or-treating. But no one in the family loves Jack Skellington more than my three-year-old. Spooky season or not, he loves dancing around the house to the soundtrack while pretending to be Jack. We’ve already done a Nightmare Before Christmas Themed Dinner, but my son was still a baby and missed out on the fun. So, this year I…

Under Wraps: A Mummy Themed Dinner
We kicked off spooky season with a viewing of Disney’s Under Wraps accompanied by a mummy themed dinner! Released in 1997, Under Wraps was the first ever Disney Channel Original Movie. The story follows an Egyptian mummy who is brought back to life by a mystical amulet. He is discovered by three children who befriend him and give him the nickname, Harold. Crazy antics ensue while Harold attempts to navigate the modern world and reunite with his lost love. I think most Disney-loving 90s kids can agree – Under Wraps is one of the best Disney Channel Original Movies. So, it’s no surprise it’s the first original movie to be…

Star Wars Birthday Party
Our little Star Wars fan turned three, and we celebrated with a galactic birthday party! Watching our son meet Darth Vader at Walt Disney World inspired this Star Wars birthday party theme. Seeing him interact with the intimidating Sith lord and channel his own little dark side had me absolutely beaming. It’s my favorite memory from our trip! Due to much encouragement from me, Ezra has grown into a big fan of Darth Vader and the Galactic Empire. Don’t get me wrong, he loves the good guys too! But there’s just something so awesome about the bad guys of Star Wars, so that was the focus for his birthday party.…

Noelle Themed Dinner
This week, we enjoyed a Christmas themed dinner to the Disney+ holiday comedy, Noelle! Noelle Kringle is the daughter of Santa Claus. After her father retires, it is Noelle’s job to support her brother (Nick) and ensure he is ready to inherit the Santa role. Unfortunately, Nick gets cold feet and flees the North Pole. To save Christmas, Noelle embarks on a search-and-recover mission to retrieve her brother from the unfamiliar world outside the North Pole. Noelle is a charming story full of holiday fun that we look forward to watching every year! There are several fun food references that inspired me to create this Noelle themed dinner. Some of…
