Aladdin Themed Dinner
This week, our family set off on a magic carpet ride while enjoying an Aladdin themed dinner! Aladdin was the first Disney movie I remember seeing in a theater, and a childhood staple growing up. I’ve been wanting to do an Aladdin themed dinner for so long, but I’ve held off because I wanted to make sure to get it just right. Well, this week I finally put in the work and completed all my research and planning. And now, I’m thrilled to share our Aladdin themed dinner! Our menu was inspired by the film’s setting in Agrabah. Despite Agrabah being a fictional city, we know it’s somewhere in the…

The Emperor’s New Groove Themed Dinner
This week, we enjoyed a special dinner themed to The Emperor’s New Groove! In this Disney comedy, arrogant Emperor Kuzco is transformed into a llama by his devious advisor, Yzma, in her attempt to usurp the throne. Lost and alone in the jungle, Kuzco is forced to team up with a kind peasant named Pacha to reclaim his throne. The Emperor’s New Groove is one of my favorite Disney films. When it first came out, I was at an age where I thought I was too cool for Disney (shocking, I know!). I eventually ended up watching it with extended family, and I couldn’t stop laughing! The cast of…

Luca Themed Disney Dinner
This week, we are premiering the new Disney+ feature film, Luca, with a themed Disney dinner! Luca is a story about two young sea monsters (Luca and Alberto) set in the Italian Riviera. Able to disguise themselves as human beings, Luca and Alberto discover food and friendship in the small fishing town of Portorosso. Food is a central component of the film, shared amongst friends and family and strengthening the bonds between them. Through their adventures, the boys discover various types of Genovese food including pasta, gelato, and various street food. With all these mouthwatering components, I decided Luca was the perfect film to draw inspiration for a Disney Themed…

Lion King Dinner Night
Hello readers! Today I want to share with you our latest Themed Disney Dinner…Lion King! The kids have been saying it’s been far too long since we last watched this classic animated film from 1994. While I absolutely LOVE watching the Lion King, it’s always a struggle to hide my ugly crying from the ever-judging eyes of my offspring during *that one* scene. BUT I will suck it up for the sake of my children and this new menu that I’m really excited to try out! Read on to see how we took inspiration from The Lion King to create our very own Lion King Dinner Night! Lion King Dinner…

Little Mermaid Dinner Night
For our Disney Dinner this week, we decided to go “Under the Sea” and take inspiration from Disney’s The Little Mermaid! This Disney film is one of my all-time favorites. The story features lovable characters, great music, a FANTASTIC villain, and a touching father/daughter storyline. For our Little Mermaid Dinner, I wanted to incorporate menu items inspired by the sea but keep seafood OFF the menu. Ariel wouldn’t eat her sea friends, would she?! So for this week’s Disney Dinner, we set out to immerse ourselves in The Little Mermaid with our “Under the Sea” inspired menu!
