Disney Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Board

This week, we added a touch of Disney magic to our Valentine’s Day celebrations with a Mickey and Minnie themed charcuterie board!

At our house, Valentine’s Day is a family affair.  Every year, we host a Valentine’s Day party for the kids with crafts, games, and special treats.  And this year, I thought it would be fun to create a themed charcuterie board for our celebration.

As you probably know, we love adding a touch of Disney magic to our days.  So, for added pixie dust on Valentine’s Day, I decided to make a Mickey and Minnie charcuterie board.  They are the original Disney couple, after all!

To pull it off, I set out to create a board with Mickey, Minnie, and heart-shaped elements in a series of red, pink, and white hues for a festive presentation.

Charcuterie boards are fun to customize to your own liking.  So, let our creation be inspiration for your very own Disney Valentine’s Day charcuterie board!

First, you’ll need a board for your Disney Valentine’s Day charcuterie.  There are some great ones available on Amazon that are perfect for the season!

You can also use any cutting board or platter you may already have – whatever works best for you!

I also used various cookie cutters to create festive shapes for our charcuterie board.  I purchased the following from Amazon:

And finally, I purchased a package of pink icing bows from Hobby Lobby to emulate Minnie’s classic look.  However, you can also find similar products on Amazon.

Disney Valentine’s Day Charcuterie Ingredients

The great thing about charcuterie boards is they offer a variety of delicious and complementary elements that cater to all tastes.  They can easily be customized for individual preferences, plus it’s fun to get creative with the presentation!

Here are the items we selected for our board:

Cured Meats

A selection of cured meats is essential for a charcuterie board.  We used thinly sliced salami that I shaped into a rose.

You can see the same tutorial I used HERE!  Other potential meats include prosciutto, capicola, mortadella, or summer sausage.

Cheeses

An assortment of cheeses makes a great complement to any charcuterie board.  I like to include a mixture of soft and hard cheeses, as well as a dessert cheese.  I lucked out and found everything I needed at Aldi!

First, I used slices of cheddar, Swiss, and Muenster to shape with our cookie cutters.  They made great heart, Mickey, and letter shapes for our Disney Valentine’s Day charcuterie board. I also purchased blocks of cheddar and pepperjack that I used our larger cookie cutters to make additional Mickey and heart shapes.

Babybel cheese wheels added a great pop of red to the board, and I could easily create heart shapes in the wax.

Dessert cheeses on our charcuterie board included a cranberry goat cheese, Petite Sirah cheddar, and a wheel of brie.  To pay tribute to Minnie, I filled our brie with strawberry jam and topped it with one of our icing bows.

Fresh Fruits

Fresh fruit pairs beautifully with an assortment of cheeses.  I used fruits I know my kids like, such as blueberries, raspberries, and grapes.

I also made pink chocolate-covered strawberries with white polka dots as another nod to my girl, Minnie!

Grains

A good charcuterie board needs structural “vehicles” for the cheese and meat accompaniments.  So, I kept it simple and picked up a variety box of crackers from Aldi.

I also included other crunchy elements to fit our Disney and Valentine’s Day theme.  The first were Garden Veggie Chips – Mini Hearts

My kids love the traditional Garden Veggie Straws, so when I saw these adorable heart-shaped snacks I knew I needed them on the board!

My kids are also Goldfish Cracker fiends, so I purchased the Mickey Mouse version of the popular snack for our board as well!

I also picked up Target’s Favorite Day Strawberries & Crème trail mix to fill in any open spaces.  The little heart-shaped pretzels were perfect for Valentine’s Day!

Extra Additions

Other potential ingredients you could include on your Disney Valentine’s Day charcuterie board are:

·      Bread
·      Nuts
·      Pretzels
·      Spreads/Dips
·      Honey/Jam
·      Vegetables
·      Candies
·      Chocolates
·      Cookies

I bought an assortment of heart-shaped cookies and marshmallows to include on our board, but I simply ran out of room.  I guess I’ll need a bigger board for next time!

And there you have it!  An adorable Disney charcuterie board perfect for celebrating Valentine’s Day with those you love most.
